The Aberdeen Attack
Edited by Callum James

In 1898 Frederick Rolfe was subjected to a long and detailed character assasination which ran across three issues of The Daily Free Press in Aberdeen. Despite the hostile attitude of the anonymous author and his obviously 'tabloid' approach to accuracy, the articles have proved an invaluable starting point for Rolfe's biographers in dealing with this part of his life.

Although sections of the articles have been quoted in various biographies, they have not, until now, been reprinted in full. This edition also contains a bibliography of material relating to the attack and to Rolfe's time in Aberdeen.
